After a short drive we arrived at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort (in Orderville UT) and set up camp. If you look hard, you'll see Ray in the photo below.
Jay and Sheana joined us at the ranch and the next morning we were off to Zion National Park.
The rock formations were totally different from those at Bryce.
We hiked two trails. The Emerald Pool trail was the most interesting. We hiked up to and behind the waterfall.
We saw some wildlife on the way--butterflies, a snake (hidden in the grass), a lizard and a squirrel. Note the jowls on the squirrel.
The next morning we went horseback riding (except for J who went muleback riding). Oh my, our bottoms were sore.
After lunch we watched Jay and Sheana skeet shoot.
Our time together was great fun--even cleaning spilled candle wax. (Then again, maybe we could have done without the wax.)
